Happy Godzilla Day to all kaiju enthusiasts out there. On this most glorious holiday the good people with Toho have revealed the title for the 31 live action Godzilla movie. Now the first movie quickly became one of my favorite Godzilla movies so let’s look at the title reveal video, and I’ll yammer on a bit later.
Okay so not much yet but we’re patient, okay you guys, maybe I’m not. Director Takashi Yamazaki will be returning for directing duties on the new film. I would like to just go ahead and remind everyone that Godzilla Minus One won an Academy Award, made 7.65 billion dollars, and made Jason very happy. It was a Godzilla film that had a story that was riveting and did something that I have never felt watching Godzilla movies. Giving two craps about these humans. I’m not saying I cheer for the Big G or feel that maybe the humans are merely props for him to smash, chew, and incinerate. But this time around I felt something for them even though they ultimately beat the big guy. But I digress.
The title logo that has become quite iconic was drawn by the director himself. Let’s just add that talent on to them and that is writing, directing, and working on the VX. While we don’t have anything more to go off with you should go sit down today and watch your favorite Godzilla movie or if you’re me all of them. Happy Godzilla Day all.
