The spring and summer are shaping up to be very good to us nerds. So we got the new Supergirl trailer set to debut June 26th, 2026 starring Milly Alcock. Okay we got a lot with this one so roll that trailer and I’ll be back.
This movie feels like it’s going to have so much hurt in it. So we are dealing with a Kara that saw her planet tear itself apart in every way you could imagine. Unlike Kal-El who was jetted off as a baby she survived the worst till the end. And unlike Kal she has one last connection in Krypto. So let’s put a ultra powerful Kryptonian with loss issues in a situation where one of the last things she holds dear is placed in jeopardy. John Wick won’t have anything on Kara Zor-El.
Kara’s just trying to celebrate her 23rd birthday and be miserable, same girl. That’s until a group of murderous pirates called the Brigands led by Krem of the Yellow Hills played by Matthias Schoenaerts does something terrible to Krypto and Kara has a few days to save her dog. Along the way she meets up with Ruthye Marye Knoll played by Eve Ridley who also has it out for Krem after he killed her father. Along the way they’re meeting up with Lobo played by Jason Momoa an intergalactic super powerful bounty hunter. The flashbacks in this move look like pure pain though as we get some insight into what Kara is feeling. Isolated, alone, and just feeling hopeless. Along the way trying not to let her young friend go down the same path.
Directed by Craig Gillespie and produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran the film stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, Jason Momoa as Lobo, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze and David Krumholtz as Zor-El. Expect David Cornswet to reprise his role as Superman as more than just a call left on read. Supergirl releases in theaters June 26, 2026.
