Every year, the team at FFXIV put together a special event to thank their players for enjoying their game. This event, The Rising, is one that many look forward to each year not because it’s filled with jokes, but because it shows the sencerity and love they have for their players. Last year’s event even had a special one on one moment with the player and Yoshi P, where he expressed just how much it means to him that we enjoy it so much. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cry.
That was last year, so what do we have in store for this year? That’s the thing with The Rising. We’re given very little information regarding the event aside from where it starts and the prizes for the end. There isn’t even a summary. With an event as personal as this one, I think the vagueness suits it just fine. We were also told the prizes this year: a parasol with the FFXIV logo and some floral confettii. Both look absolutely wonderful and it’s almost guaranteed we’ll all be stocking up on the confettii!
There will be lots of emotions this year as well, considering the state the world is in and the stress the team as been under. No mater what happens though, it’ll be one to remember. The event starts on this Friday August 29th and runs until September 9th. You’ll need to be level 15 and have access to Ul’dah. Aside from that, there’s no other requirements. Let’s all get ready for the big festival and celebrate a wonderful game. Together.
