Ah the Sonic movie. The movie that an entire cadre of nerds was able to bully into changing the design to something less, horrifying. As a reminder Sonic was supposed to look like this.
I think we can count this as a time bullying was done for good. Also this was the last movie I saw before the pandemic showed it’s raggedy face ruining all things fun. But those changes may have been what pushed Sonic to a 306 Million box office. Well that’s enough for a sequel so after a few trailers we have our last trailer for the movie set to debut April 8th, 2022. Let’s check this out.
Yeah looks like I’m going to have as much fun as I did with the first one. Th studio is really leaning into the Sonic lore with things like Tails’ Tornado plane, Robotnik’s look, and even the poster playing homage to Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The best one to me is Colleen O’Shaughnessy voicing the character of Miles “Tails” Prower. Admittedly when I heard that voice in the previous movie, I was more than pleased. This trailer does give us quite a bit more to chew on with more looks at Knuckles voiced by Idris Elba, and Eggman using the classic machines and using a chaos emerald. After a trying few years it’s good to revisit one of the last good things before it all went south on us. Look for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in theaters April 8th, 2022.
