Yeah, not being there is killing me but let’s give a quick recap of everything we saw from Hall H during the Marvel Cinematic Universe panel.
First up we got the new trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. This one I’m liking what I see because it’s going to a comedy series. Wait did she just talk to the camera? Okay I wanted this. I loved the series in the 80’s penned by John Byrne. If you want to be entertained, I recommend the Omnibus of Sensational She-Hulk because this series has that vibe. But oh wait? Who’s that familiar figure in a classic red and yellow suit at the end? I’m guessing he’s got an objection. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law debuts on Disney Plus August 17th.
Now the next thing released to the public was the trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This is one of the most emotional trailers I’ve seen in this show as it will acknowledge the passing of Chadwick Boseman’s character T’Challa as Wakanda copes with the loss of their king. Queen Ramonda played by Angela Bassett looks to be taking the center role as she ascends to the throne after the passing of her husband and son. Also being introduced in this movie will be Namor played by Tenoch Huerta and the Atlanteans. It looks like a power struggle is happening between the two kingdoms, but we do get confirmation someone else will be wearing the suit but who. Oh, and don’t think I didn’t catch Shuri shaking hands with RiRi Williams played by Dominique Thorne. She looks like she about to “cut” her own path in this universe. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever debuts November 11th, 2022.
Next up was a look at the upcoming Secret Invasion set for a 6-episode run on Disney Plus in 2023. The show will see the return of Nick Fury to Earth after seeing he was off in space working with the Skrulls. Also returning in this series will be Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes (War Machine), Cobey Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos.
Ant-Man and Wasp Quantumania was up next and while Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily are coming back as the titular characters, we also see Kathy Newton taking on the role of Cassie Lang. She’ll be the third actress to do so but this time she’s getting her own suit as she takes on the mantle of Stature. We’re getting so close to Young Avengers people. Bill Murray is said to have a guest spot in the film and Modok will also be making his debut. But don’t let all that fool you into thinking this will be lighthearted because Jonathan Majors will be reprising his role of Kang only this isn’t Loki and he’ll be the conquering variety. This is Marvel’s next big bad guy everyone. And it’s not going to be good. Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania debuts February 17th, 2022.
And lastly James Gun and the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 took the stage to give us a look at the upcoming film. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Bradly Cooper, and Vin Diesel will return as their characters from the first two films and we also met our new cast members Adam Warlock played by Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary and Cosmo the Spacedog who we’ve see a few times in the series but now has a voice with Maria Bakalova. Chukwudi Iwuji also made an appearance dressed as the High Evolutionary during the panel. GOTG panels are the best. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 debuts May 5th, 2023, and it’s being said this will be the last time we see this version of the team. Kudos to this cast for the ride they have let us join them on.
We also confirmed we’re getting two new Avengers movies Avengers: The Kang Dynasty May 2nd, 2025, and Avengers: Secret Wars November 2025, Thunderbolts will be coming July 26th,2024 and will end Phase 5. Daredevil who we saw in the She-Hulk trailer and will see in Echo along with Vincent D’onfrio will return in Daredevil Reborn which will run for 18 episodes in 2024. Take a look at some of the images of all the shows that we’ll be getting from the MCU in the coming years. This presentation was certainly a feast and I think we all left stuffed and with a doggie bag. My eyeballs are ready MCU, let’s do this thing.
