The Last of Us Teaser Trailer

Fans of the hit game series The Last of Us have been awaiting this moment with bated breath as we get our first look at the upcoming series set to premiere on HBO Max next year. Let’s take a look at the first teaser trailer for The Last of Us and we’ll talk more after the jump.

I’m not sure if I’m ready for this. Understand this game has a phenomenal story and one that is very tragic. The story is that of a post-apocalyptic world where it’s kill or be killed by either other groups of humans or by humans that have been exposed to a Cordyceps fungus that has made them cannibalistic monsters. I’d like to take this time to mention clickers are the worst and we get a very good view of one in the trailer, and I hate it. Clickers suck. The character Joel is tragic as this world is what’s made him who he is, a man that will do what’s necessary to survive. And when he’s given a task to transport a strange young girl across the country. To see this played out on screen is going to be quite a ride.

Developed from the successful game made by studio Naughty Dog writer Neil Druckmann joined the development of the series to see his unique vision interpreted on screen. Along with Craig Mazan a script was developed and this will also be the first tv series from PlayStation Productions. Playing the lead roles of Joel and Ellie will be Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. I have to say the bar is set very high for these two roles as the in game performances from Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson were stellar. Not trying to doubt them already, just saying my expectations are high. Gabriel Luna will also play Tommy Joel’s younger brother along with Anna Torv who plays Tess a close friend and partner of Joel’s. Carrying over from the game Merle Dandridge will be reprising her role. Look for The Last of Us to debut on HBO Max for a ten-episode run in 2023.
