Hey nerds I’ve enjoyed my break but it’s time to get back to it. And we’re starting up big as we now have our actor for the upcoming Prime Video series God of War and Ryan Hurst will be bringing the character of Kratos to life.

Now of course we have seen Ryan Hurst in other roles on Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, movies like The Ladykillers, We Were Soldiers, but he was also the voice actor for Thor in God of War Ragnarök. He also got a BAFTA Award for. But he is stepping into the role of Kratos the Spartan warrior that defied the gods themselves, like all of them. This man is the number one cause of deaths of deities of the Greek and Norse variety. He’s a demigod of the Greek god Zeus and powerful enough that all the gods fear him and know his name. Now the series will be taking up during the time that Kratos hung up his flaming Blades of Chaos and opted for a simpler life bearing a son Atreus with his second wife Laufey or Faye. If you played the 2018 God of War game you know where we’re going, if not, well I’m not going to spoil it for you.
“God of War follows father and son Kratos and Atreus as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.”
The official synopsis follows the what we saw from the 2018 game and I was addicted to that game. If you never got onboard now’s the time because it’s a masterpiece and I need to see it brought forth accurately on the screen. And I’m hoping for plenty of flashbacks to see exactly how Kratos earned the moniker of The God of War.

Currently Ryan Hurst is the only casting, but Ronald D. Moore will be on showrunner, writer, and executive producer duties and Frederick E.O. Toye is set to direct. Co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Tall Ship Productions and PlayStation Productions. The series already has a two season order and will film in Vancouver.
Okay I have rambled because I am super excited to see this. One of my favorite franchises and I can not deny that Prime Studios is hit after hit with me right now. Please don’t miss with God of War. I’ll keep you guys posted.
