Star Fox Returns to the Nintendo Switch 2

Okay if there’s one thing I love, it’s being right. So when Fox McCloud was shown to be having a major role in the new Super Mario Bros Galaxy Movie I said that a Star Fox game would be following. And low and behold it’s happening. Star Fox is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 console June 25, 2026. Let’s check out the presentation.

Oh yeah. I’m here for it. So I called this on the show but I never uploaded the clip, which you can find here.

But hey it’s not about being right, kind of. It’s about a new Star Fox game and this one is going to take inspiration from Star Fox 64. With updated graphics, game modes, and cutscenes. Graphics are certainly a significant upgrade that’s for sure and I personally like it. I understand there may be some that don’t and hey that’s fine, I guess. All the stages have been remastered, and the controls now allow mouse control with the Joy-Cons. You can use one copy of the game and invite 3 more players locally to engage in some co-op play. And you and a friend can now play through the campaign with one taking flight controls and one sitting as the gunner. Including a game chat feature where you can use the in-game characters as avatars. Oh man I’m gonna have Slippy saying some terrible things.

The game will be available for download June 25th and Wal-Mart has preorders open for hard copies now. I’m looking to score one of those myself so keep an eye out because I prefer physical media. But this is at the end of the day a remake, where’s my new version Nintendo?

I’m gonna do so many barrel rolls.
