No teaser was needed for this as we have the first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania. I’m excited because this will introduce a new threat for the Avengers and the entire MCU. Let’s look at the trailer.
I’m gong on record here that Ant-Man isn’t one of my favorite heroes and to think of the odds Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne are up against in this movie, well I’m not betting on them. Mainly because now we get to see Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. Oh yes, we did see him at the end of the Loki series as “He who Remains” but this is the version we were warned about. In case you were wondering Kang is a time travelling genius bent on, well conquering. Hailing from the 31st century Nathaniel Richards went back in time and when attempting to return he ended up further in the future with access to technology far greater than what he had before. And just like his ancestor his intellect is his greatest weapon. The film will also be the first time we see Cassie Lang suit up as Stature. All you Young Avengers fans are just going crazy now aren’t you.
The plot is showing us that Janet Van Dyne played by Michelle Pfeiffer gives Cassie Lang who will be played by Kathryn Newton a warning about a device she created that would send a beacon to the Quantum Realm but given too late as the family is dragged into a universe beneath the Quantum Realm inhabited by all sorts of creatures. I love how everything looks is this realm and the fact the it expands the MCU but by more taking a closer look.
The film has a release date of February 17th, 2023 directed by Peyton Reed with a script written by Jeff Loveness. The film will star Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne / Wasp, Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang / Stature, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, and Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.
