The film will star Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Jacob Temblay as Flounder, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Awkwafina as Scuttle, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. The film is directed by Rob Marshall, who previously directed Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Into the Woods, and Mary Poppins returns. Lin-Manuel Miranda is an executive producer and making new music for the film. No release date has been announced.
