Halo Series Trailer

Needless to say, I am excited for this. Look I’ve written about the Halo series. I’ve heard rumors and sometimes even lies. I’m looking at you Uwe Boll. But here we are on the cusp of a actual live action series based on the hit game Halo. So, join me as we watch this trailer and take in some of what I’m banking on is a great series.

Yeah, I’m hype. So, before I go on a rant about how awesome this is. I will be that person that misses Steve Downes voicing Master Chief. Look he has been the voice of the character since I picked up an Xbox controller back in 2001 and was introduced to Halo Combat Evolved. No, you can’t turn that off and I wish we could have it this way. However, I will give Pablo Schreiber who will be playing the role of John 117 his due. I did not recognize the voice of Master Chief at first but I’m okay with this. And no I don’t believe dubbing Steve’s voice over was the answer. Let the actor play the role. Look I understand that we could have had Pablo just play the Chief, never take off the helmet and Steve could have done the voice. And writing that I think yes we absolutely could have done that. But it’s something I’m just willing to accept.

But then we must address Cortana’s look has changed and honestly listen to me, well read this, I don’t care. I’ve seen multiple changes to the look of Cortana, I can take more. What I can be happy about is that Jen Taylor is reprising her role as Cortana. I appreciate the change made by the studio casting her in the role we know her for. Now is this hypocritical I know. And I have a comeback, just somewhere closer to the end of this article. So yeah, Cortana looks different, I can deal let’s move on.

But then visually I’m going to bounce off these walls. Look everything in here from Warthogs, Pelicans, ODST, Covenant soldiers, and the Spartan armor is about a dozen chef kisses. Hence the reason there’s about a billion screenshots at the end of this article. Look with a price tag of over 40 million dollars it better look great.

So far I’m gathering this series is going to take place at the beginning of Master Chief’s career as the galaxy’s number one butt kicking super soldier as we see a humanity that was taken from him slowly be restored. We see Dr. Halsey explaining how the Spartans can be controlled and of course over the trailer see the threat of a super soldier that is capable of emotion and feelings. And I am here for that character development.

Look I have high hopes on this series being good and I can’t wait to see more. Halo the series debuts on Paramount Plus March 24th 2022. Starring Pablo Schreiber as John-117 better known as the Master Chief. Jen Taylor as the voice of Cortana, Chief’s onboard AI, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey one of the creators of the Spartan Project. Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha Boo, Charlie Murphy as Makee, Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Kate Kennedy as Kal-125, Natasha Culzac as Riz-028, Bentley Kalu as Vannak-134, and Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes. The series will have a 10-episode run and Rupert Wyatt will direct.
