The Munsters Trailer

Growing up I was a major fan of The Munsters. For those unfamiliar it was a family sitcom that ran from 1964 to 1968 but really hit its stride in syndication hence how I was able to watch it. Truly it reached the height of its popularity years after it aired and enough to get a reboot that was mercifully short lived. It centered around Herman Munster the father a Frankenstein’s monster, Lily the matriarch who was a vampire, her father Grandpa who was also a vampire, and their son Eddie who was a werewolf, and Lily the niece of Lily. It was a great show to be honest and you should YouTube Herman’s speech about accepting different people. Well, it was only a matter of time before someone rebooted it and Rob Zombie has released the trailer for his latest movie set to release September 2022, a prequel to The Munsters.

I mean this is from the man that brought us the trilogy of the Firefly clan, Halloween, and The Lords of Salem. So, you’re probably wondering why Rob Zombie is doing the silly comedy. Well, you need to go find another film of his called The Haunted World of El SuperBeasto. Rob has done some comedy in his time. But yes, I do see the people looking at this and wondering why it look cheesy. Well, The Munsters was cheesy. Seriously think back to that show. But I still have the weird feeling of things look, well cheap. But I still fall back on Rob Zombie is a talented film maker so anything he’s done it was intentional. So, I’m trusting the process and considering I like the source material I’m willing to wait and see.

Produced and directed by Rob Zombie The Munsters will star Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, Sylvester McCoy as Igor, Cassandra Peterson as Barbara Carr, and Butch Patrick as Tin Can Man who was Eddie in the original series.
