Let’s start this article by hoping for a much better live-action Avatar, okay? So this series has had some difficulty to say the least with Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko originally announced as executive producers in 2018 but in 2020 departed the project due to creative differences. Needless to say, the fanbase for this show, and I hear there are quite a few, were a bit worried. But the show must go on and now we have official announcements for the cast of Avatar. So today we learned that actors Gordon Cormier (Lost In Space, The Stand) will play Aang, Kiawentiio (Beans, Anne with and E) will play Katara, Ian Ousley (13 Reasons Why), Physical) will play Sokka, and Dallas Liu (Players, Tekken) will play Zuko. Also announced is Albert Kim who will taking on the writing, producing, and show running duties.
Production of the series was supposed to begin this month but clearly there have been delays with the series now expecting to begin in November. No premiere date has been announced as of yet.
