Star Wars: Visions is looking better every time they show me something new. So in case you haven’t heard Disney+ will be featuring an anthology of stories from some legendary anime creators. Nine shorts will be released on the streaming platform this September 22nd, 2021. Here’s the English dub trailer.
The list of episode is as follows.
The Duel directed by Takanobu Mizuno and animated by Kamikaze Douga.
Lop and Ochō directed by Yuki Igarashi and animated by Geno Studio (Twin Engine).
Tatooine Rhapsody directed by Taku Kimura and animated by Studio Colorido (Twin Engine).
The Twins directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and animated by Studio Trigger.
The Elder directed by Masahiko Otsuka and animated by Studio Trigger.
The Village Bride directed by Hitoshi Haga and animated by Kinema Citrus.
Akakiri directed by Eunyoung Choi and animated by Science SARU.
T0-B1 directed by Abel Góngora and animated by Science SARU.
The Ninth Jedi directed by Kenji Kamiyama and animated by Production I.G.
I don’t have enough coffee to go through the amount of outstanding talent that will be bringing their unique visions to the Star Wars franchise. I’m excited to see anything Studio Trigger is animating with hits like Kill La Kill and Darling in the Franxx. Kenji Kamiyama’s story is one I’m particular interested in as the man has worked din animation since Ducktales and no not the newest one, old school Ducktales from 1987 and hi run on Ghost in the Shell. All episodes are scheduled to be released on September 22nd and because they are shorts we get them all at one time apparently. Remember that none of these stories are expected to be canon so just enjoy them with them not having to conform to the established universe.
