Don’t call it a reboot, they’ve been here for years! The popular series Chip ‘N Dale’s Rescue Rangers is back, and this will not be a reboot of the popular series but a continuation of it. I never was much for the pairing of these two Chipmunks till they put on some clothes and started solving mysteries. Well the duo is back in a film that will debut May 20th on Disney Plus.
Well that’s not what I was expecting. So we’re going in the direction of Rescue Rangers was just a tv show and the characters were actors. Well I’m going to admit that’s not what I was wanting but I’m willing to watch it. The movie takes place 30 years after the series was cancelled and it’s a Roger Rabbit world where cartoons and humans live together. Literally it’s a Roger Rabbit world because Rogers’s in it! It looks like the old friends haven’t seen each other in quite some time and the studio wants to bring them back for a reboot.
Okay so this mix of CGI and drawn art does look a little weird but I like the visual of it. I can’t help but notice the absence of Gadget in the trailer, but we do see Monterey Jack and Zipper. Our titular characters will be voiced by John Mulaney as Chip and Andy Samberg as Dale. Tress MacNielle who voiced Chip and Gadget will also return and Corey Burton who voiced Dale and Zipper in the previous series will return as the voice of Zipper. Also attached to the movie will be Will Arnett, Kiki Layne, Eric Bana, Keegan-Michael Key, J.K. Simmons, Chris Parnell, and Seth Rogan. Akiva Schaffer will direct and the script was written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. Look for Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers on Disney Plus May 20th, 2022.
