I love Futurama. If you were looking for a unbiased view go somewhere else. But I’ve loved this show since it debuted way back in 1999. So it pains me that we’re only on the 8th season because it’s been quite a ride. After running for 5 years on Fox the show was then picked up by Comedy Central in 2010 where it got 3 more seasons. And now the show has a new home on Hulu with a 20 episode run. This is the show that refuses to die and I’m convinced lives out of spite, just like me.
Now the revival was announced back in February of 2022 but there was some controversy with actor John DiMaggio who plays the voice of Bender and various others. Now it was first reported that he was holding out due to pay but then revealed that it wasn’t for him but the other members of the cast. This is Disney folks, they can open the wallet for this cast. But that all seems to be water under the bridge as with this trailer we hear the full cast of Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil Lamarr and Frank Welker back for another romp in the future.
Set to debut July 24th the series will put 10 episodes on the streaming app Hulu with the other 10 to be announced. Can’t wait to check it out.
