I needed some nostalgia this morning. The long-ago announced X-Men 97 series has delivered on a trailer and release date. The first season with a second in development will air March 20th, 2024 on Disney Plus. But we’ll talk about that after we check out this trailer.
I am ready! So we’re picking up where we left off with Charles Xavier leaving the team. Cyclops is in charge with Magneto coming back into the picture to proclaim he’s the rightful heir to Professor X’s legacy. But looking closely there are plenty of easter eggs in here as well with my favorite being that headline on the Daily Bugle paper talking about the Hellfire Gala. Mostly I’m loving how the animation is clearly updated but doesn’t forget where it comes from. But the little nods of old and new are getting me excited to watch this.
It’s hard to believe it’s been over two years since this was announced, but it’s finally here. The cast features a lot of returning talent but some new voices as well. Featured will be Ray Chase as Scott Summers / Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Cal Dodd as Logan / Wolverine, Alison Sealy-Smith as Ororo Munroe / Storm, George Buza as Henry McCoy / Beast, Holly Chou as Jubilation Lee / Jubilee, A. J. LoCascio as Remy LeBeau / Gambit, Lenore Zann as / Rogue, and Matthew Waterson as Magneto. Te run will have ten episodes and as I stated before a second season is in development.
