If you grew up in the early 90’s you may have some fond memories of playing the original four player arcade game of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I know I’ve spent a small fortune playing that arcade but for the fun, money well spent. Well imagine my surprise a few years ago wandering through the arcade portion of a movie theater to see a brand new four player arcade cabinet featuring the turtle bros from the 2012 Nickelodeon series. I kept trying to understand how this passed under my radar and why it never saw a big release, oh yeah arcades died off. Well last week it was announced this game would be moving over to the your home consoles this April 23, 2024.
On top of this they are including more levels and boss fights and the voice cast has returned to add some more lines as well. This was one of my favorite series of the TMNT and the art style certainly lends itself to a game. It’s been a good time for side scrolling beat em up TMNT games with Shredders Revenge recently released on the Switch to some rousing fanfare. Excellent party game and I can see this one being as successful. But I’m biased, I grew up on this stuff.
Look for this to be available on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation, and Xbox consoles April 23, 2024 and preorders just opened up today for retailers and it’s gonna retail at 29.99 msrp. If you never played this one or in my case never knew it existed till a certain time now’s your chance. Turtle Power indeed.
