If you like the original Scream, odds are you’ll like this.
An absolute blast from start to finish. A classic who-dun-it with every flair typical to a Scream Movie, including a few directly matching shots.
Everything from the plot, to the killers, to the cameos, exactly mirrors Scream as direct commentaries on current horror.
The performances from legacy characters, including Courtney Cox and Neve Campbell, harken back to the old days. The new cast perfectly encapsulate the newer, jaded audience who feels like “we’ve moved past this” and is proven excruciatingly wrong.
Kat and I argued about whether Jack Quaid would be one of the two killers early on in the movie (Kat arguing it would be cliche). The point isn’t whether she or I was right, though, the point was how long they dragged it out. How long they teased us. How many clues were for or against it. And at the end, the teasing was the whole point.
