Trap Review: Night 31

The basic premise of this is, a serial killer goes to a concert with his daughter. Or a father who murders people takes his daughter to a concert that means a lot to her. Trap navigates this dichotomy brilliantly.

I don’t know what to say about the movie. It is lazy in certain parts, and reeks of nepotism. That being said, everyone gives a performance worthy of the script, and the twists are worth the material.

The trailers seems to give this movie away, it doesn’t. There are many twists to turn, and the film is worthy of them all. There are weak elements, for sure, but the strong ones take over fantastically. Josh Hartnett pulls off a one-of-a-kind performance and I’m routing for his serial killer to the end. If you’ve been disappointed by M Night Shyamalan’s works in the past decade, give this one a shot.

(Kat’s comment: yeah! F*** you, haters, give Trap a shot! M Night Shamalan has your attention? Give him a for real go!)
